Description

The MM-5100D is a 32-bit/33MHz 3U CompactPCI DRAM memory buffer capable of burst mode accesses at the full bandwidth of 32-bit/33MHz cPCI with transfer rates of up to 132 MB/s.

The MM-5100D is commonly used in telecommunications and industrial control applications.  In many CompactPCI applications, the maximum speeds on the memory read cycles can only be achieved by using Push/Push technology.  This is accomplished with our on-board DMA initiator.  Various drivers are included (Windows NT, VxWorks) so that it can also be used as a high speed RamDisk. The card is commonly used as a large buffer in system applications involving high speed data acquisition.

Due to the cPCI bios, memory reads can tend to be significantly slower than writes in certain applications.  The MM-5100D overcomes this obstacle because it is capable of being both a target cPCI memory and a cPCI DMA initiator.  This feature allows you to set the DMA so the card will perform writes instead of reads to maximize throughput.  The configuration space header of the MM-5100D returns a class code of 05h, indicating that it is a memory controller, and a sub-class code of 00h, indicating that it is a RAM module.

Reliability is ensured by burn-in and running memory diagnostics that check operations for 48 hours while temperature-cycling boards from 0° to 70°C. Quality is guaranteed by Micro Memory's 1 Year Warranty.
